are two words combined. “TAWAN” refers to the “SUN” in Thai language and “TIP” implies “MAGICAL”. Together we can say it is the ‘magical of the sun’.

Our logo resemblances the two most important element and energy source for our soy sauce.

The SUN energize photosynthesis of plants creating soybeans and wheat which are the main ingredient. Our soy sauce is also 100% solar fermented in dragon jars which use day and night cycle to promote the enzyme activities yielding the great soy sauce aromas that large fermentation tank can not replicate.

The SEA gives us the life-essential compound as salt which consist of many minerals resulting in rich umami flavors in our soy sauce.

WHO ARE WE?


It began with the passion of a food scientist, our founder Mr. Paiboon Sumetha-aksorn. While working at Kasetsart University, he fell in love with solar-Ong fermentation and dedicated years of research to create Tawantip natural solar fermented soy sauce—completely free from GMO, MSG, pesticides, and 3-MCPD contaminants—for his children. His final project at Kasetsart became the authoritative book "Soy Sauce in Thailand" (1978), establishing the blueprint for authentic Thai soy sauce purity.

Tawantip's journey began that same year as "Tong Hua," later renamed Tawantip Food Products Co., Ltd, delivering Superior Taste Award 2023-winning umami through Chiang Mai soybeans, Petchaburi sea salt, and Ratchaburi earthenware Ong jars. This solar-powered Ong fermentation—mastered 40 years before French wineries adopted terra cotta techniques—serves premium industries domestically and internationally.

Today, the 2nd generation manages Tawantip under Mr. Paiboon's supervision, maintaining HACCP and FSSC standards with sustainable, low-carbon production that yields unmatched Thai umami complexity no industrial method can replicate.
